Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the BiteNice mobile application and bitenice.com (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them.

1. The most important part: not medical advice

BiteNice provides general educational information about feeding babies and toddlers. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for the judgement of a qualified health professional or your own supervision.

Always supervise your child while they are eating.
Always follow the advice of your paediatrician, health visitor, or doctor — if it differs from BiteNice, follow your health professional.
AI-generated analysis can be wrong or incomplete. Verify ingredients and preparation yourself, especially where allergies are concerned.
In an emergency — choking, difficulty breathing, swelling, or a suspected severe allergic reaction — call your local emergency services immediately. Do not rely on the app.

2. Who may use BiteNice

You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any child whose information you enter. The Service is not for use by children.

3. Your account

Keep your login credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your data or account at any time in Settings or by emailing support@bitenice.com.

4. Free allowance and future paid features

BiteNice currently includes a limited number of free AI scans per account. Non-scanning features (your diary, allergy records, checklist, and offline safety list) are not limited. A paid Premium tier may be introduced in the future; if it is, purchases will be handled through the app stores’ official billing systems and these terms will be updated. No payment is collected today.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service — including attempting to access other users’ data, reverse-engineering the Service, sending abusive volumes of requests, or using it for any unlawful purpose.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, text, and software, belongs to BiteNice or its licensors. Your data remains yours: you grant us only the licence needed to store and process it to provide the Service to you.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may update, add, or remove features. If we discontinue the Service, we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your data.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, BiteNice is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or affects your statutory consumer rights.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of its courts, unless the consumer-protection law of your country of residence provides otherwise.
